About the training:

Part 1: The Cultural Competency Training (CCT) will be going over topics that are the fundamental of cultural competency to cultural humility, which will help attendees gain a better understanding of the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) and develop skills in diverse communities. The CCT curriculum includes, but is not limited to: compelling reasons for cultural competence, the dynamics of diversity, the impact of personal culture on communication, the cultural bumps, and communicating effectively through an interpreter.

Part 2: The CCT Advanced module will increase the awareness, knowledge and skills required to function effectively with cultural differences that may be present in the area of medical services, service organizations and agencies, medical interpretation and community partnership. The CCT Advanced curriculum includes, but is not limited to: building a culturally competent system of care and community partnership.

Location – Stark County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery; 121 Cleveland Avenue SW, Canton, OH 44702.

Parking – Parking located off of Tuscarawas Avenue, REM Parking.  $7.00 fee.

Cost – This is a free training. Lunch will be at the discretion of the attendee.

Education credits – 7.25 CEUs available February 27 and 6.25 CEUs available February 28.
