The Tom Douce Workforce Scholarship honors a longtime StarkMHAR Board Member and leader with a lifelong commitment to service.

With degrees in Sociology and Divinity, advanced pastoral and family‑systems training, and more than 39 years directing Interfaith Campus Ministry at Kent State Stark and Stark State, Tom dedicated his career to helping people grow, connect, and thrive.

He also served the community as an LPCC for 34 years, supporting individuals through compassionate mental health counseling. His leadership extended across numerous regional boards and committees, including campus ministry, public health, HIV/AIDS education, mental health, and youth development. A devoted member of Faith United Methodist Church for over 56 years, he gave generously of his time, voice, and service.

This scholarship continues his legacy by supporting individuals committed to service, compassion, and strengthening the well‑being of others.
