Who Should Attend This Training: Anyone who currently has or will have a position as a Family Peer Support Provider Supervisor. (Family Peer Support Providers can be called many different names, such as Parent Peer Support, Family/Peer Partners, Family/Peer Navigators or Family/Peer Support Specialists)
What is Family Peer Support: Family Peer Support (FPS) is a peer-to-peer approach to supporting families caring for children, youth, and young adults with behavioral, mental, emotional, or co-occurring challenges. FPS is provided by a parent or caregiver with lived experience who is trained to assist other families by providing support, identifying resources, and facilitating access to services for the child and family.
Description: Supervision is a key component in the success of Family Peer Support. Effective supervision employs an approach that promotes the unique lived experience of the Family Peer Support Provider and encourages ongoing professional growth. This curriculum is part of the larger Family Peer Support Practice Model and addresses supervisory skills that will enhance your ability to fully support the work of the FPS. Training will include strategies, best practices and tools for your use in supervision, and you will have opportunities to problem solve around shared challenges and network with supervisors from other programs.
Individuals must complete the Family Peer Support Supervisor Training Application in order to be considered for this training. Understanding Youth-Led Prevention for Adults

Who should attend: Those interested in obtaining an Ohio Certified Prevention Specialists Assistant (OCPSA) credential.
About this series: The fourteen (14) part series provides the underpinning for professionals and advocates who need a core understanding of prevention science and practice. The series will include training in the eight domains required for Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant (OCPC), Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist (OCPS) credentials and will fully meet the education requirements for the Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist Assistant (OCPSA) credential. The series includes a day on the Code of Ethics for professionals holding or seeking the OCPS credential as well.
About this course: Understanding Youth-Led Prevention for Adults is designed to provide a foundational overview of youth-led prevention and serve as a basis for prevention professionals. This course will provide attendees with a gender understanding of youth-led history and theory and lays the groundwork for using solid best-practice prevention science which is steeped in research and proven effective. Participants will leave the training with knowledge on the impact of youth-led prevention, how to engage in the profession and help engage and empower youth-led leaders.
