STARKMHAR FUNDING OPPORTUNITY: COMMUNITY WELLNESS GRANTS
Stark County, OH (February 24, 2022) – As part of an ongoing concentration on opportunities that have a positive impact on resiliency, especially among young people, Stark County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery (StarkMHAR) is offering a funding opportunity for $2,500 program grants.
While two $2,500 grants have been awarded in past years, a generous donation from Buckeye State Credit Union means that up to five awards could be given (this year only).
Ideal applicants will develop and/or continue programs that promote resiliency and offer youth positive socio-emotional and/or educational experiences. According to Search Institute research, “Out-of-School Time” (OST) programs focused on activities such as mentoring, athletics, the arts, academic support, and life skills positively impact youth development.
Programming needs to have the ability to be implemented during ongoing COVID restrictions if necessary; previous applicants are not eligible to receive the award for two consecutive years.
Proposals are due via email to Proposals@StarkMHAR.org no later than 5 p.m. on April 4, 2022. Please read the application guidelines and other information found at StarkMHAR.org, then “Initiatives,” then “Community Wellness RFP” prior to submitting.
Donations to the fund that supports these kinds of grants, as well as scholarships, may be made either by mail: StarkMHAR Attn: Carrie Long, 121 Cleveland Ave SW Canton, Ohio 44702 or online at https://starkmhar.org/GIVE.
