Presenter Bios:

Kris Vilamaa is CEO of HealthCare Perspective. Kris works with state health and behavioral health departments, other governmental agencies, health plans, and solution providers in the Medicaid space to develop creative solutions to their challenges. Kris is a national thought leader on the use of data in integrated care models. Prior to entering consulting, Kris served in state government for 15 years, the last three as the Chief Information Officer for the Alabama Department of Mental Health.

 

 

Steven Hedgepeth, MBA, has a strong operational and strategy implementation background with over fifteen years of experience working across the Human Service, Education, and Behavioral health fields at both the local community and state/national levels. He has led organizations through significant Medicaid policy and payor changes, selection of systems, and implementation of Financial and EHR information systems.  Steven has experience in community and facility-based models of care across a range of for-profit and not for profit organizations.  Served as Chief Operating Officer for large, multi-site behavioral health organization with operations in seven states.

 

Sunithi Kuruppu has more than 15 years of experience in the Behavioral Healthcare and Healthcare Information Technology industries. She has a proven track record as a clinician, business development director, client success and account management leader and consultant. Based on her clinical background and healthcare IT experience, Sunithi is uniquely positioned to help her clients strategize effectively on their digital transformation strategy to achieve their goal of integrated, whole-person care. She has focused throughout her career on serving public sector clients at the local, state and federal levels. She has previously worked for leading entities in the behavioral health space including Bamboo Health, Netsmart and the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.
