MHFA YouthTrainer: Allison Esber

Monday, March 12 and Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 8:30-12:30 PM

Youth Mental Health First Aid® is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health, addiction or crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid® is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD) and eating disorders.MHFA Youth Logo

Adult and Public Safety Training’s are also available.

There will be a $30.00 fee implemented to cover the cost of materials for any person(s) registering outside of Stark County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery’s funded providers.  Payment is due prior to the first day of training.  You will not be admitted into the training without prior payment as the manual is imperative to the course.  Checks/Money Orders/Cash are accepted forms of payment.  Checks can be made out to StarkMHAR.  Payment can be mailed or dropped off to the StarkMHAR office during regular business hours and brought to the attention of Carrie Long.
