Description: Family peer support is a unique workforce required to use their lived experience in a professional manner to support other families with children and youth with mental health challenges. The most effective way to recruit, retain, and support family peer supporters is the use of practice-based, effective strategies specific to their role. Supervisors need knowledge of the principles and practices of family peer support in order to provide constructive support and optimum utilization of the family peer support role.
