Who should attend: Physicians and Nurse Practitioners.

About this event: This E&M education session will help physicians and nurse practitioners understand the finer details of required documentation and code selection. The session will be customized to include all relevant information that directly affects the specialty of psychiatry including how to document each of the key elements as well as what requirements must be met to bill based on time and documenting and billing for psychotherapy add-on services during the E&M visit.

Attendees will leave this training understanding:

  1. The key components that must be documented for each level of E&M;
  2. How to bill E&M based on time vs. how to document and bill for add-on psychotherapy;
  3. How the code selection ties closely to the complexity of presenting problem and medical decision making.
