Event held from 8:30-4:30 p.m., check-in starting at 8:00 a.m.
The educational focus will be geared towards vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue and taking care of yourself, your staff, and others.
- Education on emerging strategies.
- Building a plan per organization on preventing burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma.
- Developing personal strategies for self-care.
National & regional presenters including: Elizabeth Van Valkenburg, LISW-S, CNM (Three Circles, LLC), Dr. Georgette Constantinou, Laura Palay and Kevin Aldridge (Aldridge Palay Consulting), Nate Jackson (Certified Yoga Instructor), and Deirdre Delong (Fraternal Order of Police). Who should attend: Clinical staff, first responders, hospitals, health professions, school employees; people in a helping profession.
Dress Code – In an effort to be trauma informed, StarkMHAR encourages participants to dress so that they are comfortable!
Location – First Christian Church, Heritage Hall; 6900 Market Avenue North, North Canton, Ohio 44721.
Parking – Attendees can park in the far lot and enter through entrance B. Enter the building through Heritage Hall. Follow the First Christian Church and StarkMHAR signage. Free parking.
Cost– $20.00 per person; includes refreshments, buffet lunch, afternoon snack, and continuing education credit. Payment should be submitted to StarkMHAR prior to the training in the form of exact cash or check.
