The Stark County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery Charitable Fund was established to support services and programs that promote the behavioral health and wellness of residents of all ages, enabling them to live, work and participate in their communities. StarkMHAR strives to inform, support and enable mental wellness and emphasize recovery.
How to give today
Contributions to fund will be used for the benefit of Stark County residents. The Charitable Fund gives StarkMHAR the flexibility to assist individuals and organizations with nontraditional supports such as workforce development scholarships and neighborhood program grants.
Stark County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery solicits and accepts gifts that are consistent with its statutory responsibility and that support its core programs as well as special projects. Donations to the fund will be accepted from individuals, partnerships, corporations, foundations, government agencies or other entities in good legal standing. All donations are tax-deductible and will be accepted and used in accordance with ORC Chapter 340.
Your financial gift to the Charitable Fund is extremely important because it allows for flexibility in addressing emerging prevention, treatment and recovery needs that impact our neighborhoods as well as supporting local workforce development. To make a gift to the Charitable Fund, click the Give Today button and type “Stark County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery” at the Stark Community Foundation donation page to direct your gift to this specific fund.
How to give later
Bequests and Living Wills A simple, flexible and versatile way to ensure StarkMHAR can continue providing services and changing lives for years to come is a gift in your will or living trust, known as a charitable bequest.
Beneficiary Designations Name the Charitable Fund as a beneficiary to receive assets such as retirement plans and life insurance policies after you’re gone. Simply fill out a form that is entirely separate from your will – which makes this approach an easy way to give. Not only is it an easy way to give, but it’s also flexible – you aren’t locked into the choices you make today. You can review and adjust beneficiary designations anytime you want.
Charitable Gift Annuities You shouldn’t feel like you are choosing between your philanthropic goals and financial security. One gift that allows you to support StarkMHAR while receiving fixed payments for life is a charitable gift annuity. Not only does this gift provide you with regular payments and allow us to further our work, but when you create a charitable gift for the Charitable Fund at the Stark Community Foundation you can receive a variety of tax benefits, including a federal income tax charitable deduction.
Endowed Gifts Making an endowed gift to the Charitable Fund is an investment in the future of the community which helps residents grow and thrive for years to come.
Trusts Looking for ways to give StarkMHAR a significant gift? If you have built up a sizable estate, you may want to explore the advantages of setting up a charitable trust. There are several types of trust – the options allow you to tailor your gift to meet your personal, charitable and financial goals.
Appreciated Property When you give appreciated property you have held longer than one year, you receive a federal income tax charitable deduction and avoid paying capital gains tax. In addition, you no longer have to deal with that property’s maintenance costs, property taxes or insurance.
